We love potatoes…especially when they are mashed! That’s why Mash House is the perfect place to celebrate St Patrick’s Day and indulge in our yummy potato specialities including mushroom, cheese, leek & bacon or horseradish mash.

Here are a few interesting facts about the humble potato:

* A potato is about 80% water and 20% solid.
* Henry Spalding first planted potatoes in Idaho in 1837
* Potatoes are a powerful aphrodisiac, says a physician in Ireland.
* The average American eats 140 pounds of potatoes per year. Germans eat more than 200 pounds per year.
* The largest potato grown was 18 pounds and 4 ounces according to the Guinness Book of World Records. It was grown in England in 1795.

The cooking demonstration against BRMB DJ Elliot Webb at the Taste of Birmingham went fantastically! Our version of Bangers & Mash included:

Whole Grain Mustard Mash, Woodland Pork Cumerland Sausages with Red Wine and Red Onion Gravy.

The audience voted our version as the best, and the dish we cooked is available on our menu.
